ZMQ is using its MIRA Channel – and re-adapting it for COVID-19 response.  MIRA is a mobile phone based digital channel on maternal & child health for rural women and CHWs. With iconic graphics and localized audio, the CHWs deliver information on the door-steps of pregnant women and women with children under-5 years of age for immunization. MIRA has been upgraded to deliver customized and localized communication to rural communities on COVID-19.

MIRA is a ready platform running since 2014 with over 2.5 million subscribers in India, Uganda, Rwanda and Afghanistan. MIRA has been upgraded to provide additional information on COVID-19 to the rural communities; especially pregnant women and their families.
